Where to park in Alberobello

Most parking areas in Alberobello are paid. Their layout can be confusing at first glance, so here's a quick guide to help you get started in the trulli capital, along with a downloadable map of Alberobello parking lots:

Public or private parking?

Private parking lots in Alberobello are generally more convenient than public ones. For the same price, private parking lots offer services that public parking lots don't (guarded parking, restroom connections for camper vans, helmet storage for motorcycles, etc.).

Public Parking

Paid parking areas are divided into Zone A and Zone B. Zone B includes the areas dedicated to tourists. These parking areas are closest to the monumental trulli areas and are the only ones that offer the option of purchasing daily parking tickets at a flat rate of €8.00 per day.

They are identified by the special "blue stripes," and the ticket, which must be displayed in a visible place on the car, can be purchased at the appropriate electronic parking meters, also indicating the license plate number.

Orange, pink, and white lines are reserved for residents, maternity leavers, and free loading/unloading/timed parking, respectively.

Hours
  • Zone A (residential): Every day from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM
  • Zone B (trulli area): Every day from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM

Attention! On Corso Vittorio Emanuele II (the street that connects the Church of Santi Medici with the town hall), parking is always paid, but the entire street becomes a no-parking zone starting at 8:00 PM (fines apply even with a paid ticket).

Price List
  • Zone A (residential): €2.00/hour, split into 15-minute increments (€22.00 for the whole day)

  • Zone B (zone Trulli): €2.00/hour, split into 15-minute increments (you can purchase a daily pass for €8.00 for the entire day - by entering multiples of €8.00, you can purchase passes for multiple days).

(Residents and workers enjoy discounted rates)

Attention! The new public parking lot "Parco Urbano" has different and higher rates than the others.

Parking Meters

To pay for parking, you will need your car's license plate number. Parking meters are multilingual; once you've selected your language, you'll first need to choose the rate you want to use. The system offers several rates, but the only rate for short-term parking is number 1; all the others are reserved for license plates registered with the Municipality.

Once you've chosen your rate, you insert coins or an electronic payment card and your license plate number. A ticket is then dispensed.

Payment Methods
  • Coins
  • Bank Cards - Visa, Maestro, and Mastercard Debit and Credit Cards (no PIN required)
  • Prepaid chip cards with discounts and rechargeable at parking meters - Available denominations: €15 / 20 / 25 / 30 / 50
  • Mobile App: Flowbird
  • Mobile App: TelePass PAY
  • Mobile App: EASY Park

Motorcycles

Motorcycles have small dedicated parking spaces and are subject to the same rates as cars.

Buses

Tourist bus circulation is subject to separate regulations.

Generally, it's best to pre-purchase your ticket online, as it saves on the cost.

Motorhomes

Motorhomes have special parking restrictions. The dedicated public parking lot is located in Piazzale Piccinni (near the sports hall). It is within Zone B, but costs €3/hour (split into 20-minute sections) and offers a daily pass for €9/day.

Free Parking

Virtually nonexistent near UNESCO sites, they can still be found in the more remote areas of the city. Consult the free map to check the paid zones.

Free Timed Parking

Usually located near "blue lines," these allow for limited parking of 30 minutes or a maximum of one hour. Check the relevant signs.
